attempted dog-napping

On Sunday night I came home and found out that Mui Mui was almost dog-napped! She had wandered out of the back yard when my dad was working in the yard and left the gate open. My mom was inside the house and heard her barking loudly. She looked out of the balcony and saw a van and 2 boys. One of them was saying "here doggy..." and was trying to lure Mui Mui towards the van. Luckily Mui Mui is a mean-little- doggie and doesn't like strangers (especially boys) so she was barking and backing up from them. My mom - startled by the whole situation - yells from the balcony "what are you doing? That my dog!". The kid looked up, panicked, and tried to grab MuiMui. She was too quick for him and ran around barking even louder. So my mom comes running out of my house barefeet and sceaming "that my dog" (in wild and frantic broken english). The kid that was on the lawn gave up and jumped into the van and they drove away - the neighbors were getting curious with all the noise. My mom grabbed Mui Mui and ran back into the house. I don't know if she was more upset at Mui Mui for leaving the backyard or the boys for trying to dog-nap her. :-) I was worried for Mui Mui but couldn't help but chuckle when imagining a little asian lady running across a lawn in her pjs and barefeet yelling at some punk asses in broken english. Knowing my mom - she was probably waving her arms franticly and shrieking.
